S T A R D U S T

by Gary Jacobson

I count the stars glowing in your eyes
Touching my soul mesmerize
With sparkling stardust
Bound with solemn trust
Striking every nerve and sinew just
As I with love kiss your brow
To be yours forever vow.

As heavens twilight glimmers
Subdued over land with glowing shimmers
Open arms welcoming virtuous night
With swelling color bedight
Feeling chilling
Aura thrilling
By stillness hushed
By the immortal touched...

In soft twilight time
A time of calming current sublime
How the beauteous visions creep
Into my reverenced soul seep.

All noble cares rise on gentle wing,
Flimsy gossamer webs floating
On twilight air,
Tenuous strands, caught on grasses there,
Sheer as translucent ambered evening
Abiding delicate feeling.
Emboldened with fervent visionings.
The look you give, in my heart sings.

An evening song
In quieted stillness belong
A look that to inner being brings
On solvent, enraptured wings,
Bearing charcoaled twilight rhyme
Softy into shaded night divine,
Till slowly dreams drift away,
Absent of cares, forever and a day...

Twilight blends fading day's lamentation,
Splendored, quivering trepidation
Impaled by the sacred mystery
Captured by the divinity
I reach my hand to you touching
From deep in a soul weeping,
Weeping,
In still ambiance seeping.

Surrounded by a feeling almost religious,
Enfolded in dim dusk almost superstitious,
Surreptitious
Till enlightened,
Enchanted
Till stars come beaming,
Twinkling,
Blazing...

I’m in awe of the stardust I see in you.
All demons of life you eschew
Giving hope against hope
Frantic,
Frenetic
On a slippery slope
Of twilight dews
That utterly confuse.

Translucent night inspired
Embers in my being fired
Under the Twilight moon
A mystically, narcotic tune
Sung in sweet, lucid soliloquy
Set my soul free.

The Master of Master’s hand
Stirs the stardust in the skys,
Makes it to sparkle in your eyes,
Where nothing can go wrong
In life’s sweet and sour song.

For you create me,
In stardust delight me,
Breathing life into my lump of clay,
As twilight stars bright ray
Burns out the day...

I live in those stardust skies
I see hanging in your eyes
Stealing across the meadows of my heart
In songs become my dearest part
A lilting melody from nightingale
Weaving in his song
An enchanted fairytale.
